Packaging and disposal
Our approach to packaging
Shipping glass products requires careful and stable packaging to provide the best possible protection for the goods during transport and delivery. We use different packaging and protective materials depending on the size and properties of the glass panes.
The packaging materials we use include in particular:
- Corrugated cardboard boxes for shipping packaging
- Honeycomb cardboard as cushioning and protective material
- Foam profiles for edge protection
- Adhesive tape for securing and sealing the packaging
- Stretch wrap to protect larger glass panes from the elements
- Single-use wooden racks for the transport of particularly large glass panes
Fulfillment of legal packaging requirements
We fulfill the legal obligations applicable to our company in connection with the placing of packaging on the market.
We are registered in the LUCID packaging register of the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR).
LUCID registration number: DE5566473324910
Insofar as the packaging we place on the market is subject to the legal requirements for system participation, it is participating in a dual system. The corresponding packaging quantities are recorded and reported in accordance with legal requirements.
In doing so, we make our contribution to financing the collection, sorting, and recycling of packaging and support the circular economy of packaging materials.
Shipping and transport packaging
The classification of packaging depends on its specific function and use. In particular, shipping, sales, and secondary packaging subject to system participation differ from packaging classified as transport or other packaging.
Our shipping packaging consists primarily of corrugated cardboard as well as other protective and fixing materials such as honeycomb cardboard, foam profiles, and adhesive tape.
For larger glass panes, single-use wooden racks and stretch wrap are also used. The glass panes are fastened to the wooden racks and protected against weather influences with stretch wrap. The wooden racks remain with the customer after delivery.
The respective packaging is handled in accordance with its legal classification and the resulting obligations.
Packaging quantities and system participation
The packaging quantities relevant to us are recorded by material type.
For packaging subject to system participation, the required system participation is carried out. The corresponding data is reported to the responsible bodies or the commissioned dual system in accordance with legal requirements.
Instructions for disposal
We ask our customers to collect packaging after use, separated by material type if possible, and to dispose of it in accordance with local disposal regulations.
Paper and cardboard
Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb cardboard can generally be disposed of with waste paper, provided they are not heavily soiled.
Plastic
Stretch wrap and foam materials are to be disposed of according to local regulations for plastic or plastic packaging.
Wood
The single-use wooden racks we use must be disposed of after use in accordance with local regulations for wood or waste wood.
Adhesive tape
Adhesive tape should be disposed of in accordance with local disposal regulations. Larger quantities should be separated from paper and cardboard materials before disposal if possible.
Specific disposal options may vary depending on the location and the local disposal system.
Continuous improvement
We regularly review our packaging solutions with the aim of packaging our products securely while being as material- and resource-efficient as possible.
In doing so, we pay particular attention to the efficient use of packaging materials and to avoiding unnecessary packaging effort whenever possible.
